Product Management Surveys

Two Product Management Surveys are available:

The Overall Profession: A Product Management Survey

Product Management has historically been misunderstood and not well-defined. As part of our ongoing commitment to furthering the profession of product management, we conducted a thorough survey of the industry. This benchmark survey provides data that you as product management professionals can use to help in planning for your job, as well as setting up your product management organization. We had 675 people complete the survey. Find out how many products the average product manager is in charge of, what percent of you work more than 40 hours per week, what percentage are using Agile versus Waterfall, how experienced the average product manager is and what development platforms and technologies are being used.

Product Management and the Recession Survey

Before you make decisions for your organization, it is important to understand how other companies are responding to the current economic crisis and how their customers are responding in terms of their product demands. Are their customers requesting products that deliver solid value for money without necessarily adding a plethora of bells and whistles? Do they require tools that improve productivity with greater ease of use to save resources and cost? Understanding what other companies are doing during this difficult time will help you handle the challenges of your own environment. We surveyed a large number of product managers to see how they have been affected by the recession. The results are available in a report called “Doing more with less.”
